On this December morning, I had to pay attention to what mother nature was offering.
I could've taken a picture or video. I chose to bear witness to the splendor- the changing light and color across the horizon transforming from black to shades of red, orange, yellow and pink.
Breathtaking. Breath-giving.
I thought about all the dawns of my ancestors across hundreds of years across continents and oceans. Their names left my lips. I imagined this being their dawn and the day it might have brought forth. Pasts honored.
Every dawn brought me closer to today. And the futures that await.
It is all possible.
